The bridge tolls have been removed on Sundays to encourage visits to Sanibel and Captiva Island businesses, and during a recent trip with my motorcycle group, I was saddened to see the shopping center where Joey's once stood is now an empty lot. Joey's offered an incredible variety of delicious custard flavors, exceptional service from friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere that made every visit memorable, so I hope the community continues to support the remaining island businesses and that Joey's makes a comeback someday.
