Feb 2022 I usually don’t leave negative reviews but this experience was awful! I had been out running errands on my way to Lowes and really hungry as all I had that day was a small yogurt. I don’t know if this place is new. Don’t remember seeing it before. After leaving UPS I saw China Star. So decided to try it. Have eaten at 3 different Chinese places here and liked them all. The one by TJ Max and behind CVS are great. One by Walmart closed. I order pork fried rice and barbecue ribs on bone which I really like for $9. Went to eat in truck before Lowes. Ate some rice which was very bland and not near as good as others. So went to ribs. I think there was about 6. There may have been 1/4” meat on bone. I tried to get some off bone and I couldn’t chew it. Dry and tough to chew.
I tried about half of one rib and spit out last bite.’I had asked for pork because it’s always been tender. I thought maybe it was beef but it was pork. At $9 and truly inedible and so so fried rice I too ribs back in and told girl behind counter I could not eat them the small amount of meat was tough and dry. I put it on counter toward her. Now this may not be verbatim but is close because it lasted about 10 min.
There were 3 other customers waiting for their food to witness this, She pushed container back toward me saying this is what you ordered. Me-
I know I did because I like ribs. Her-these have bone in them. Me-I know,
It’s what I ordered but I cannot eat them. They are tough and pushed container back toward her. She proceeded to tell me how to eat the ribs. I am 71 years old and know how to eat ribs. She pushed container back toward me. She said you’ve eaten this, we can’t do anything with it. I know you can’t sell to another customer but even though I’m hungry this is awful. I couldn’t even finish 1. Well what do you expect us to do with it? Throw it away and give me a refund. She went in back to cook and I couldn’t understand language. She came back and said no refund, owner not here. I said I know that doesn’t matter. And I swear she pushed container back to me and said take it and did her hand like leave. I pushed it back to her. I said are you really going to fight with a customer over $9. She had gotten loud and tone was rude.
I also got loud. Cook came up and pushed container to me. You already ate no refund. I opened it and showed him one rib I couldn’t eat.
I finally even showed them the part I spit out because unchewable. He went to back. I opened container again and said you’re acting like I ate most of it and want refund. I didn’t even finish 1. The only thing I recall returning at a restaurant is a pina colada that didn’t taste like any I’ve ever had. No problem, no argument, just a refund. But I’ve never seen or heard of any staff arguing with a customer because food was awful. I really couldn’t believe this was happening but it was wrong and I wasn’t leaving without a refund. I said ok I’ll be sure and leave a review about this and shook my head. The cool who was watching me from the back said what and came back up. I said so now you want to fight with me. Is $9 that important to you? He told the girl to throw it in the trash and give me refund. She said well next time. I said I promise you there won’t be a next time and I will leave a review about the arguing and rude attitude. I know this is long and I didn’t intend it to be this long. But this went on about 10 min. If I were in a business I sure wouldn’t argue loudly with a customer about bad food in front of 2 customers. I know I was
in the right because I honestly eat it. When I got home as I was still hungry I put it in a frying pan with an egg to make it better. I ate half and threw rest away. If they had just given me my refund and not made me stay there that long arguing with me I would not have left a bad review on ribs. Just beware of ribs. Or order them and hopefully you’ll understand.

Just saw a lady from China star walk an elderly man to his car holding an umbrella over his head so he didn't get rained on. So sweet! I will make sure to always get my Chinese from here, good food and wonderful service.
