The best Haitian food I've ever had was from a small takeout spot off Lake Ida Rd, where the friendly owner greeted me warmly and the dishes were packed with flavor-especially the crispy fried pork combo with tender rice and peas plus spicy cabbage. I stopped in on a whim and loved everything, from the chicken wings with plantains to the pickled cabbage that added the perfect kick without needing hot sauce; for $7.50, it was a delicious and convenient meal I'll definitely be back for.

I recently tried a Haitian restaurant that exceeded my expectations, which says a lot considering my Haitian background. I'm not sure what they put in their diri djon djon, but it was absolutely delicious. I stumbled upon the restaurant on Lake Ida Rd and impulsively decided to try their chicken wings dish with plantains, cabbage, and salad - every bite was delightful. The service was friendly, and although the website mentions eat-in options, it's more of a takeout spot, which I would gladly return to for another tasty meal.
