I selected the brie and an interesting jelly toasted and wonderful fresh potato chips. It was a very interesting stop for me and about 25 friends for dinner. Would do it again.

A waste of time trying to find this place for a terrible meal. Go to Main St or anywhere else.

We love this place! Bob's Train is my kids' and my favorite place to eat in all of Sarasota. The fact that you can eat on a real train is so fun and unique. The food is always fresh and delicious. Our favorites are the Moose Burger, Kielbasa with onions and peppers, Egg Salad sandwich, Brie and Berry grilled cheese sandwich, homemade potato chips, and Chocolate Spaghetti with ice cream for dessert. You could spend weeks in here going through all of the circus memorabilia and the owner, Bob, is so impressive with his vast knowledge and tireless energy serving and entertaining customers. You must go!

I love this place. Great atmosphere, wonderful food and the staff are always so helpful! This is the perfect place to bring the kids on a weekend afternoon to enjoy the atmosphere and the great service.

Wow, this place is great!! I went here today with my family. It is so cozy, how cool is it to eat on a train of all things!

To start, I wanted to say, its a little hard to find, so I recommend using the website on their website because GPS was not working right. The train is inside the property and my GPS kept taking us in circles around it, but when I pulled the map via their website we found it so easily.

The food is great. The waitress was really nice, and bob let my nephew play with the wooden train car he made. He was wonderful. He used to be a teacher and you can tell he really does love kids. It was so nice. We were able to tour the train while Bob cooked our food, and let me tell you, if you want to see everything, in every picture. It's gonna take you some time. We didn't finish our first tour before the waitress came to get us for food. Our food was great! I had the Brie and Berry sandwich and it is AMAZING! Best grilled cheese I've ever had! After we were done with our meal, Bob was able to take us through to see the rest of the car, since we were the last guests and he was done cooking. We stayed almost 30 minutes after they closed going on the tour. It was great!

I suggest you take a few hours to do this, it seems like a great ol'Florida experience with a nice and relaxed kinda vibe. Truly wonderful!

Children are NOT welcome here! A 3 year old train enthusiast was ecstatic to be eating in a "dining car" and then his dream day was dashed. How did it change so rapidly from his pure true giddiness to tears? BOB, the owner. Bob's tantrum over his precious Salt and Pepper shaker holders. We were *not* greeted at the entrance by the bartender/waitress/greeter despite there being only 10 patrons squeeze together at the front. So we sat ourselves at Table number 13. Warning! Do not sit there. Stand still with your arms to your side and do not touch Bob's salt and pepper shakers!!! I repeat, do not touch Bob's salt and pepper shakers!!! We were told to move seats to table number 6. By then the 3 year old was not interested in leaving behind the shakers, so we took them and assured the waitress who pleaded to return them that we would without delay. There was not a lot of business, understandably based on reviews- so we knew it would not fill up. Not even any real signage. Within short order Bob was there to SCOLD my Son frantically loudly abrasively for removing the train car salt and pepper shaker holder. We are talking, absolutely flipping out worse than I have seen any two or three year old ever tantrum. Screaming and causing the biggest scene. Are you OCD or what Bob? One holder out of place and FLIP OUT city. I have video!!! And for what? To upset our whole family for a salt and pepper holder? Seriously? We were trying to be kind to other patrons, by allowing our son to use them quietly and he did so, until BOB CAUSED HIM to fall into TEARS! Bob, this isn't acceptable behavior! Shame on you! Do you not have grandchildren? Do you not have a heart to share with a 3 year old whose life IS trains? Shame on anyone who dines at or promotes this business. Bob was not kind to a 3 year old who LOVES trains. How would anyone want to go there? And their menu is laughable - burgers, hotdogs, and omelets? And not easy pricing. Oh Bob, maybe you had a bad experience with a kid hurting your precious items. OCD. But don't take it out on my child who hadn't hurt or upset a soul. YOU DID though, you did. And that is unforgivable. SHAME on YOU!

* For those who do not have kids and will not touch the salt and pepper.. I plead with you not to give this establishment your business. The parking lot is decrepit. There is no view. There is very very little staff. The prices are too high for the little food that is available. Hotdogs, hamburgers and omelets? Ooh a salad too? It didn't look appetizing. The water certainly wasn't even drinkable tap water. It was foul. The patrons are all squished together and loud. It is dark with black out curtains. There is nothing to see, no ambiance. But we stayed for the little boy who got YELLED at by a bitter old man who could have made a friend so easily with a little patience, a little friendliness, and a little care. He chose the opposite. I ask you to please not give such a business your money. It is so deserved where there is compassion, understanding, good food, nice scenery and good business. This is NOT IT. This is a JOKE. ** A cruel one at our expense, having to explain why Bob was just.so.SO VERY AWFUL. Over salt and pepper shakers. Hours later and I am still shaking my head. What man does that to a three year old??? *

We have eaten here two previous times and am looking forward to going back this week.
Food is reasonable and absolutely awesome both in portion and taste.
You eat in an actual Ringling Circus Train Railroad car. This place is a must see.
Bob is quite an awesome chef and story teller. You will have a very enjoyable time.
