We stopped by a charming bakery and coffee shop in Micanopy during our camping trip at Paynes Prairie SP. The cherry turnover I had with my latte was delicious, and my husband loved his slice of banana walnut bread. Sitting on the front porch, surrounded by ancient oaks and enjoying the small town view, made for the perfect start to our day's bike ride.

I absolutely adore mosswood farm store. I have been there many times over the years and it's my favorite place to go for breakfast pastries and coffee on the weekends when I am in the area. Years ago, the owner, Emily Piazza, made my wedding cake and it was so beautiful and utterly scrumptious! They do many special orders and I've never seen anything come from them that wasn't gorgeous and delicious. The brick oven sourdough is absolutely amazing and if you're lucky you might get to see Joe Pierce, the brick oven master, working in the spectacular, lush garden behind the store. Mosswood is a treasure and will certainly be a highlight of your visit to the Gainesville/Micanopy area! Don't miss it!
