Still thinking about that mind-blowing dinner last night, @ Alfredo's Paradiso, with Cynthia... Fortuitously, "Chef Thursday" coincided with our 38th wedding anniversary... Let me start by saying that there wasn't anything we tasted that wasn't absolutely superb. simply perfect, wonderful food of your dreams. ok. that's said. but, then, it's always that way at 'fredo's... really. Greeted at the front with a hearty "Ah! Mr & Mrs. van Buren! Welcome, and Happy Anniversary!" by Linda Giulio, the Hostess of "Alfredo's Paradiso", and lovely wife of Chef Alfredo Giulio, who prepared, and served, each course for us, "family style", nothing off of the menu, all "Chef's Choice" for each couple. his aim is to highlight the excellencies of his Italian cuisine, and let me tell you... his aim is true! (diners are asked only to specify whether they prefer a meat, seafood or vegetable theme for the evening). The four courses included an exotic appetizer plate, (even though we were already hungry...), pasta (home-made mushroom ravioli and large shrimp, in a bright green pesto sauce!), main (grilled swordfish & deep-fried whole jumbo prawns!), and dessert courses, all accompanied by... (wait for it...) "a raft of wines!", (...in BIG glasses, too !! a red, and two whites..., chosen to accompany each course by The Chef , who carefully explained each presentation that he brought out with little comments like "and this cheese is a very rich, and rough, textured cheese.. so i drizzle a little of the truffled honey onto it...? you get the sweet with the salty..." or "now, this wine is from our vineyard in northwestern Italy... very near France." (!) (yep, THEIR vineyard... it's on the labels..., and real 'smooth stuff' as we say on the bayou...), For dessert, "this is just like my mama used to make for me..., i hope you like it". oh, yeah, we did. Cindy said she overheard a neighboring diner say...."what is it that THEY are having...?" how cool is THAT !? we agreed that we have never been treated so royally, nor had such a succession of superb tastes repeatedly pass through our mouths. by the end of the meal, i was thinking, like, "if i do this every Thursday, i'll soon be dead..., but i could definitely do this on a monthly basis..., or maybe quarterly...? mmmmmm... this is GREAT!" (next time i'm gonna say "meat"....)". only problem, and it's not really a terrible problem, is that i don't want to start putting regular food in my mouth again, today.

Waiter was so unfriendly, male. Took over hour for food to come. We were one of the first to sit, all others received meals before us. Did not put bread on table. Soup was cold. Shrimp scampi, was cold, with pasta not enough. Egg plant had too much thick source on it. Veal scampi, veal was cold touch. chicken scampi, thick chicken and cold. waiter started to clear table before we were done. No manger came over after we complained about waiting for our food. They complained we said we ask for delay in food which was a lie. Never again as a local will I return to this place. Prices were in the middle teens. I would go to Branos or NY Pizza before here or Carabbas.
