Heavy set bartender should be replaced. An attitude like his has no place in dealing with the public.

Great food and beer selection!

Extremely rude management, previously visited for lunch 1 to 2 times a week, was told by staff how dog friendly they are and shown puppy menu, went this evening with husband and 7lb Yorkie for dinner, wonderful waitress, food decent, then on the way out accosted by fat old man "manager" who got in my face and asked "can i help you" when I responded "no" he said "you can;t have pets in the restuarant" seriously I was holding the dog and going out the door, do they expect customers to pay them jump over the fence to get out. Lost a long time customer you jerk.

This is a restaurant that could be great.,with a change in management and with a change in cooking equipment. The firer is not built to take the fry load during the season, resulting in a temperature drop from overloading. The constant complaints, if it's greasy food, is always due to the grease not being hot enough. These same complaints were heard before their move, leading me to believe the main problem is in ownership and management. It always is.Too bad. Also take a look at the length of adverse comments. These people are REALLY displeased!!!!

I have been twice and have ordered the burger both times. The meat is delicious! Fresh made patty.
Second time, bun sort of fell apart, but that was OK. I think they could do a better job on their fries.
Mediocre frozen type of fries. Wait staff is very friendly and helpful. It is one of my favorite burger places.

I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered the cottage pie. The side he ordered was the onion rings for $1 extra. When my fish came it was 3 very small pieces of greasy fish. My husband's onion rings were so greasy and not crisp, couldn't even eat them. I complained the our waitress about the greasy onion rings thinking she would at least take off our bill the $1 extra She never said a word and did not take off the extra $1. Needless to say I will not be back.

Just had lunch there today 4/22. At the new venue in Jacaranda. I ordered Squire John's Fish n Chips boasting "generous" portions of cod fish!
I ordered the smaller meal offered with 2 pieces of fish for $10.99. (3 pieces $12.99) When it arrived some time later there were 2 pathetically sized fish pieces with 11 variously sized fries. I complained to the waitress Kelly about the miserable size of the fish and she replied "The fries are large! If you want more fish I can order an extra piece but will have to charge you the extra 2 dollars for the full meal." My wife asked her if I would get any more fries with the extra fish and Kelly said "no - just the fish." Unbelievable. So that's like $6 for 3 fish fingers and 50 plus cents each for a fry! Its certainly not Cordon Bleu - even less Gordon Ramsay, so I think this meal is seriously overpriced and not good value British Open. It's like that old joke "How did you find the fish, sir?" - "I moved a french fry and there it was!" I took a pic of the meal which if I could post it here I would to prove my point. Difficult to tell the fish from the fry it really was!

Hi. After the Shark Tooth Festival in Venice on Saturday (4/11--receipt was printed for payment @ 7:50 pm), my friend and I decided to go get something to eat. We decided to try the British Open Pub. We were greeted at the door by an elderly lady sitting down. She took our name and said it would be 15 minutes. The parking lot didn't look like it was that busy so we decided to wait. She didn't say hello to us or anything. Then after about 15 minutes, a young blonde lady took us to our table. She never said hello. She just showed us to our table. Neither of those two people were very friendly. Our waitress (Stephanie M.), on the other hand, was very nice and friendly. She got us our drinks right away and when we were ready, she took our food order. We noticed as we arrived inside the restaurant that there were 4 tables empty in the room we were seated and in one of the rooms we went by, we noticed there were quite a few tables in there that were empty. This made us question why people were waiting outside. Due to the wait, some people even opted for outside dining. We felt it was too warm outside and after having been in the heat for over 4 hours, we wanted to dine inside.

We waited quite a while, approximately 40 minutes for our food to arrive. After it was served to us, I began to dress my Pub Burger. Since the burger bun wasn't on top of the burger, I took off the onions, tomato and 1 skimpy piece of lettuce, and spread the mayonnaise on the bun. Then I put those items back on the bun. As I placed the bun on top of the burger, I noticed that the top bun was as hard as a rock. I could barely poke a knife through it. The bottom bun wasn't quite as bad but was burnt. I got the waitress and told her and she asked if I would like another bun. I said yes because I didn't want to wait 40 minutes for my food again so I didn't want it recooked. She brought me out a new bun that was much better than the first and since I showed her the piece of lettuce on the first one, this one had a lot more lettuce on it. It was quite a mess to reassemble the burger items since they had mayonnaise on them and I felt rather disappointed as I was putting my burger together myself, which should have come from the kitchen all nicely done in the first place. The burger was very good and cooked exactly how I wanted it. This is something the waitress wouldn't have known since she never touched the bun. The kitchen should have never sent the burger with that bun out to a customer.

There was also a situation regarding the steak fries that you call English chips. The English chips that I've had at British Pubs before were just that. English chips which are like homemade potato chips. Steak fries are merely fat fries which are your English chips. You call the English chips, Crispers. I said something to the waitress and she very nicely brought us an order of 'your' Crispers. And, we didn't have to wait 40 minutes for them. In fact, they came out within a few minutes. We were shocked since we waited so long for our order to be served to us. By the way, the Crispers were very good.

When we got up to leave and walk out, two of your employees practically shoved us out of the way to get by us as they were entering the dining area where we were seated. One of these people was the young lady with shoulder length blonde hair who seated us who was very unfriendly when she seated us. As far as we were concerned, she was very rude.

I wrote a note on the back of my Visa charge slip about the burger bun. I have permanently moved to Florida and have been checking out restaurants and deciding which ones I like and would continue to dine at. At this point, I'm not so sure your restaurant would be one of them due to unfriendly staff and food which should have never been served to me. As far as I'm concerned, my burger should have been free, but that was never offered. Maybe you have enough patrons for your restaurant that you aren't concerned whether I come back or not.

Thank you for your time and consideration regarding this matter.

We were extremely disappointed on the wait time on St. Patrick's Day. The wait time was one thing but the excuses were something else. We arrived at 4:30 PM and finally had to split our party to be seated at 7 PM. We were told more than once that the party in your large room was about to leave but it never happened. I realize you cannot ask people to leave but there should be a method for moving to another location to party. Many people come there to dine, as we did. Your planning seems to be very poor for accommodating the many people that stood out in front of your new location waiting to be seated merely to eat. It will be awhile before we come again, if ever.

My husband and I have been there quite a few times as we are local. We love the food there and the service. I especially love the liver and onions as my husband will not cook them at home. He gets the bangers and mash and loves it. I would recommend the Pub to all my friends.

Every tome I visit the British Open Pub I am a happy customer whatever I order. The service is very friendly and the food is excellent.
I am a snowbird and can't wait every year to come and eat here.
Thanks.

Food and service and staff very good in main dining rm. Used to go often, to bar, eat, have a few. Better to eat in main dining. Not very good at bar. Locals are favored. Andrea (Ms Super bartender)is the exception. Owner is great but she is busy, but will always take time to talk to you. Great person making it work in spite. Tough business, but this one is worth a try.

I brought my 76 year young mother there on Sunday evening April 3, 2011.

What a mistake!!

The hostess seated four people that had arrived just ahead of us near the door and then asked how many in our party, we had 2 as did the party behind us.

We were told it would be a 20 minute wait. When I asked about the empty booth 4 tables away we were told that it was for parties of 4 or more. As I looked around I noticed there were only 3 parties of 2.

I suggested that we had sat there before and there were no larger parties here waiting, to no avail.

The couple behind us were having a conversation with my mother and just shaking their heads in disbelief.

So being the attentive son, I went to the bar and asked for a manager. The bartender said he would have to do, uh oh, and he looked into it only to say that there would have to be 4 people in our party to sit at the empty table. 3 Parties of 2 waiting and this was their best.

We were all aghast at the cavalier attitude of this restaurant. After all we were paying for dinner not them and apparently some tables are off limits!

I told the bartender rather than wait for a table when one was clearly available that we had sat at before we would dine elsewhere.

The response was OK and have a good evening. We did!!

The cavalier attitude displayed this night was a topic of conversation at the restaurant we did dine in and they thanked the owners of the British Pub for their poor customer service. They will be a topic of conversation everywhere I go and to anyone that will listen.

They have lost 2 patrons that dine out separately and together 5-6 times each week.

Perhaps they will learn what a good customer experience is and I bet they are some of the first to complain that business isn't what it could be.

British Pub you wn

We enjoyed our second visit to the Pub.The fish and chips were quite good and not greasy as reported in a previous review. The people we were with had Prime Rib and both thought it was excellent. The service has been superb on both visits. We did not like the Irish Coffee and were sorry we ordered it. We will be visiting again.

Our family has been going to the Pub for years. Everything that we have tried has been very good. The Chicken Wellington is fantastic. All of the staff are very courteous and help make your dining experience a great one.

My husband and I have been going there for a number of years and we bring all our friends, The food is about as authentic as it could get and is extremely flavorful. Atmosphere is great and the servers and Manager are attentive and efficient. Shepherd's Pie is tasty and flavorful as is the fish and chips. We have tried almost everything on the menu (including the liver and onions) and have never been disappointed. Try some of their authentic desserts. They are great! Highly recommended.

Visited 2009 for appetizers, was not good, but thinking it might have been an off night we tried again this year (June 2010). My husband had Cornish Pastie and I had Fish & Chips, both the entrees were incredibly greasy and both vegetable and mashed potatoes were bland and tasteless. In addition the air conditioning was almost non exist ant (on a 90 deg.evening) On the plus side, the service was very good, the server was pleasant and the atmosphere for a Pub/restaurant very good, but that does not make up for the bad food, we will not be giving them another try..
