First off I am big on customer service. I should have picked up the signs from my first experience but I really wanted to believe this Haitian restaurant was different then the other ones I've been to... here we go.
on Saturday 10/13/2012 I was looking at their menu online and saw that they had lunch specials from Mon-Sat 11am-4pm for $4.95, I thought that was an excellent deal. I read over again to be sure I saw correct, yeap. I dragged my kids to the restaurant. Get there and they say no specials. Of course I went back and forth they had to call the manager 3 times, each time the manager said she/he (more than one manager) they would not honor what was clearly online. I asked for them to put the owner on the phone for me to talk to her, her response, yes that was changed two months ago. Not my concern, it's still online. FINALLY she said yes. Sit down to eat, what did I want the BBQ ribs and BBQ chicken......... ummmm they had none. It was 2pm they had no BBQ chicken or ribs. So I ordered other stuff from the lunch special menu. Get my food and asked for pickles, what do you know, they had none. WHAT, how the heck are you a Haitian restaurant and not have the #1 Haitian hot sauce. So that was strike one.
All along we were planning my dad's birthday party. I let that experience fly over because just the week after was my dad's birthday party at this restaurant. In planning the party there was only ONE person I could plan the party with ALFREDO as you could imagine he never returned my calls after speaking with him the first time and him giving me a run thru of how the party works. I call for a week everyday he was never available. Finally I had to take it to the top again and spoke to the boss she took my info and put me on the books. The party was for the 21st at 8pm Alfredo FINALLY calls me on the 20th at 7:30pm to tell me he was setting up for the party. Excuse me, the party is on the 21st how are you expecting me on the 20th. Strike two unorganized.
Now we get there on the 21st for the party everyone is there its 7:40pm birthday man is on his way and that's when they are sweeping the floor to set the tables. WHATTTTTT it's 7:40 party starts in 20 min tables are not set NOTHING READY. ok so WE pitched in to help set up. Here is the kicker... I made sure I spoke to Alfredo and the owner about the specifics of the party and the food menu. Alfredo said that one drink was included juice or soda. We paid per person, buffet style. So we know how much the bill should be approximately. Here the party is over, people asked for to go plates so we can take the food we paid for cause some didn't even eat a full meal. They give us the plates. After people left the bills comes up to $300 more then what we expected. They charged for every drink that was ordered even though I clearly asked Alfredo was Lemonade included plus they charged us for every to go plate. The buffet was set up for us, from the first request of a to go plate they should have told us it would be $20 per plate. If we had known we could have compiled all the food in 3 to go plates instead of everyone taking small plates to go.
Yeah you can imagine I went off did they even try to go half on their error NOOOOOOO. WARNING: DO NOT GO THERE. Unless you have all day and nothing to do. Save the stress and go to Fridays if you're in that area.
Oh and I won't go into the small details of some of the linen being dirty and the bosses long finger nail in the pickles as she served the pickles. GROSS.
