If I could give them 0 starts, I would.
A client of mine suggested this restaurant so I called on 1/19/22 to request a reservation to celebrate my six month anniversary with my girlfriend on February 16. On February 10, I called to ensure the reservations were set up correctly; which they were.
February 16 came and we went to the restaurant excited to celebrate our anniversary. My girlfriend and I are a young couple and we do look young; however, we dressed accordingly to the atmosphere of the restaurant.
A black gentleman opened the door for us and a black lady sat us down.
The black gentleman offered us water and that's about it.
There was a man walking around taking orders from tables, while two black ladies, a black and spanish gentleman were delivering food or asking table if they needed anything. Essentially, there was 5 employees in the restaurant assisting clients; yet none of them approached us.
My girlfriend and I sat down for 20 minutes and I'm not exaggerating, it was 20 minutes. We made eye contact with all the employees, but nobody care to assist us. Normally, if I was by myself or any normal day I would have walked out after 5 minutes or so; but due to the fact that it was our anniversary I did not want to ruin the evening. After 20 minutes, we asked one of the black ladies if they could assist us, she apologize for the wait and took our order, but it felt as if we were a bother.
My girlfriend and I decided to cancel the order and left.
I'm Spaniard/Italian while my girlfriend is American/Italian and we do look young since we are in our mid 20s. I refuse to think we were not assisted because of race, but I'm sure it was due to our age.
We both strongly believe we were discriminated due to our age.
If they want specific clientele, they should set a requirement instead of clients in this matter.
Thank you for ruining our six month anniversary.
