I grew up and loved 💝 the special treat of going to The Chicken Pie 🥧 Shop way over 60 years ago Most often on Friday nights. I loved it because it tasted like my maternal Grandma "Boots" Gaither's amazing Southern cooking! You all make Homemade biscuits & gravy, mashed potatoes and every kind of fresh homemade pie. I am spoiled by Grandma's cooking! She was from the South(with a deep accent),owned a Cafe, a Boarding House & The Old Tranquility Hotel. She had created menues and cooked for hundreds of people. "Boot's" liked The Chicken Pie Shop's Food too! This is the only place I will eat Cole Slaw! The best ever!
My Italian Dad always had the Chicken and Noodles Dinner & the Apple 🥧Pie. I moved away to go to graduate school, came home on Friday's to have The Chicken Pie Shop's Soul Food. Later,I brought my husband and babies to grow up eating at the Chicken Pie Shop. I could always count on fresh vegetables for them and if they ate all the vegetables ...they got some amazing desert. My little son loved the Apple Betty /crisp! My Mom, Chryselda Jean & Lil' Sis Joanne Lu loved the Cream Pies!
For my 50th Birthday, I chose to go celebrate 🎊at the Chicken Pie 🥧Shop! 🎉When I was blessed with a granddaughter(now 14yrs) we took the 4th generation to get Southern cooking. In recent years, due to illness, we get soul food as take out. .
