My first experience at this gay bar dates back to the late 90s when I was still a young and wild individual before moving to bigger cities like Chicago and New York. Returning recently, I found the atmosphere to be more subdued compared to the bustling city bars, with charming local bartenders who exude friendliness without any attitude. The bar has a nostalgic old-school gay vibe, offering a glimpse into a unique subculture that blends Midwestern values with a sense of pride and discretion in being gay.
