My husband and I had mouth watering sandwiches, heavenly Rocky Road cupcakes and 2 yummy cookies to go. The food was fresh.Dining was casual and comfortable. Service was friendly and prompt.

I got to spend several days with my cousin, who is a two-year resident of St. Simons Island an has been raving about her adopted hometown since she arrived. She has tried nearly every restaurant on the island and has her favorites. Her island buddies have been telling her that she must try this place. So while I visited, she offered the "adventure," since she had not been there.
Well, I must say, lunch was a wonderful experience. Joey and Amy could not be more hospitable. There is something about St. Simons Islanders that is really special. Best Sweet Tea I've had in the entire State of Georgia (really -- and Joey apologized that he would have made it "crunchier," but it was perfect!) The chicken salad BLT was great and fresh, my cousin enjoyed the crisp and fresh Greek (ish) salad. And I can go on all day about the red velvet cheesecake!
But more important was the attitude and the fact that we must have stayed for over an hour after we finished eating, just chatting with the owners and other locals. Now THAT'S what I call a real Southern Lunch. Next time I visit St. Simons, I'm most certainly going to visit the Boulevard Cafe!
