07/20/2011 - Sandy & Larry, Canton, Ga.
We had brunch at Sugarplums and were very dissapointed in the food and the service staff. First, the owner yelled at our waitress across the room because she thought the waitress was about to reveal one of her recipes. Then, remember this is brunch, they did not have crepes that day, no soft drinks that day, hot chocolate on the menu, but it is not served in the summer. They claim to be a "Tea House" and have an extensive tea offering, yet the wait staff have no knowledge of tea's at all. The specials for the day were Jambalaya & Chicken Casserole. We chose the Casserole. Find the chicken if you can! It was also mushy, too cheesy and very heavy! They offered no bread with the meal, and uncomfortably let you know that any extras costs extra money. Dessert does not come with the brunch, but we ordered the blacberry cobbler anyway and it seemed homemade and was great! Just needed a little more ice cream. Too bad, it's a beautiful place.
Maybe when the shock wears off we will attempt an evening meal.
