Day we were there service was excellent; food very well prepared.... we ordered lobster ... if I lived in Connecticut Id be a regular visitor.

Most authentic traditional Italian restaurant in the valley. I've been enjoying meals for as long as I can remember (at least 30+ years). The restaurant is charming in its fancy decor (casual attire to more formal is ok). A great place for a date or family gathering. La Trattoria is very well-known for its Caesar salad, which is the BEST in the state and prepared table-side!
They have banquet rooms - I had my own Rehearsal dinner there 14 years ago, have had a wonderful Thanksgiving there (every family has their own table, a whole turkey prepared just for your table, sides, dessert and ALL THE LEFTOVERS!). I've enjoyed social functions there (Sisterhood dinners, anniversary parties, etc) - it is always a pleasure to attend any function there.
Early Bird specials every night until 6pm; Lobster specials in the summer; a private room with a square table for private family meals (is comfortable for 8 I believe)... what more could you want? There is bar room that has live musical performances, a coat roomm... you get the idea (subtle elegance and class).
Some of our favorites include the baked stuffed shrimp, many of their pasta dishes, seafood is always fresh (yummy white clam sauce, sole Frances, Chicken (or veal) Marsala, Parmesan, and more. There is a wonderful children's menu.
Did I mention this is a family restaurant? And run by one family since it opened? You can't go wrong by choosing La Trattoria! They are open for lunches too.

Average at best. There are plenty of options within a couple of miles of this restaurant. Try them first. If the wait is too long at any of the other restaurants because they are busy, you can always get in here. That should tell you something about the meal you will get at La Trattoria.
