On a tip from a friend we tried dining at the Cooke Street Diner, who suggested the Wednesday special "Mama's Meat Loaf". I must say it was the best meatloaf I have ever had. It had a really homemade taste and the gravy was the bomb. The owner Ken had us sample of his best seller "Korean Style Chicken" and it was also the best we have ever had. The place is small, with a few dine-in tables and a couple tables outside, parking is at times requiring a walk of a block but well worth it. The service is fast and the people are friendly, like diining with family. I jokely told Ken the owner that I am determined to try all of his menu and will give him an honest critique. I am a homegrown cook myself and I am impressed with the taste of his food. We will definitely try everything now.

Cooke Street Diner (CSD) is truly a 'Hole in the Wall" place to eat. The prices are reasonable, but most of all, the food is tasty and delicious! Owner Ken Akazawa has family members helping him, such as Aunty Margaret at the counter taking orders. They also have 3 lunch wagons that are very busy on weekdays.
