I make the trek from Beaufort (about 10 miles one way) out to Boondocks at least once a week... it's a fun, funky place with attractive and accommodating, though sometimes extra busy, staff... all as attentive as conditions permit. The food's excellent and a real value. Accept and enjoy Boondocks for what it is... and don't be looking for a "white tablecloth" experience. I love this place.

This was the 4th time we have been to Boondocks in the past 2 years. First visit was great, good service and food. 2nd visit a week later they had changed owners we think and our waitress talked to herself to know what to do. Must have been her 1st night. Food good but service slow and hush puppies hard and not fresh. Tried again this year, 2018 in February, with a party of 8. Seated quickly but finally had to tell the waitress , after seeing had told us several times our food would be out in a few minutes to tell the cook if we didn't have our order in 5 minutes we where leaving. Food came within 3 minutes. Again hush puppies were hard, almost needed a hammer to eat them but everything else was good. Wednesday is .50 shrimp night. Tried them again but got there around 6:30 and the place was so packed we didn't bother to stop. Went early last Wednesday, 4:45, and got seated right away, ordered and had our food in 15 minutes. Looked as if they more help both waitress and kitchen help. By 5:30 the placed was packed. Early is the key. Will come back next for sure.
