Having managed and served in the service industry I have to say I have NEVER been more disappointed!!! I remember coming here as a child and sitting on Grady's knee when I was just a tot. Back then I remember never having an empty glass and everyone talked to everyone. ... Living down the street. ..we sometimes enjoy walking down for breakfast. ..especially since we can have it at lunch. This was our first trip back since the new ownership. ... I WILL not be back. ..we received our drinks promptly. ..order placed, waitress nice but obviously rushed and focused (have had her before and she is good usually) menu states breakfast ends at 11..bummer, simple quick stuff, Patty melt, grilled cheese, chili dog. ...40 minutes later and after seeing tables that ordered after us receive food, waitress makes her second appearance for first drink refill and to inform food coming shortly. By this time Lil man isn't hungry anymore. .. Patty melt missing mayo, burger, obvious canned chili nasty, and Lil man wouldn't even touch his grilled cheese. Owners wife checks on table next to us and buses it (about only plus I saw) waitress after having to be flagged down promptly brings me mayo, only took 5 minutes to see her again to flag her down. Spent 30 minutes eating and calming myself down. Went to check out, made my complaints(I really didn't want to make a public stink at our table) owners wife had walked to end of counter while I was complaining but walked away after a nod from the lady at the register. Was told next time to come to the register if food taking too long, she did apologize and stated our total was $25.50. Seriously? Very extremely disappointed. I'm more disappointed in the fact that this experience has tainted such iconic memories I have held of this place.
