I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant in my life... My family and I went to eat breakfast at Wally's this morning. There was 7 of us and we sat at a table that was set for 6, and we added a wheelchair at the end. After we were seated and had coffee poured, the waitress came out and said, the owner says you can't sit at this table and we'll have to separate you into smaller tables. I thought she was joking at first, and said what? She repeated it, the owner says you can't sit here, you have to separate. The owner tried to hide it under a fire code violation, which is absolutely ridiculous. We added one seat to a table already set for 6. We didn't push tables together and you could walk all the way around us. They have 2 large tables in the back room that we walked by coming in, so we asked if we could move back there so we could sit together. We were told by the wait staff that they could ask the owner, but they knew what she would say, implying that it was not an option. I would like to point out that we are not an especially mobile group. We had one wheelchair, one on crutches after a surgery and one with a cane. Stunned, we complied and moved to two separate tables where we could no longer talk together as a group, which was the whole point of getting together in the first place. Then when the waitress came to take our order we were explaining how we were going to split the bill, and the waitress said, I can't do that right now, but she could separate the payments after we ate. She said, I have to put it in as only 2 separate orders so I don't confuse the owner, who is also the cook. What?! You mean a cook can't handle breaking up orders into 3? And also can't handle 1 order of 7? What business does she have cooking at a restaurant at all? What if there would have been 10 of us, or 20? What kind of service is this? I can't believe what a terrible owner Laura Andrews is. Absolutely despicable. I'm so disappointed to have a person like this as an owner of any type of sit down restaurant in our friendly town. She might want to own a Subway instead where she can handle just one order at a time. I will say, she has an excellent wait staff, whom you could tell was absolutely embarrassed to be delivering her messages to the customers. They were terrific and almost made up for her deplorable behavior. We were sure to leave them a big tip for having to put up with such a raunchy woman as their employer. If I could leave Laura zero stars, I most definitely would. What a tyrant.
