Service was slow. Hair in our blooming onion and the meals had to be sent back twice because they were over done

Have heard glowing reviews for years about SAMs and how great the food was. So my husband and I went for our anniversary. We both spent a little extra and ordered the New York strip recommended by the server. While waiting for my dinner I went to the salad bar only to be let down. The lettuce on the bar was wilted. They had some sort if cheese product and bacon bits. Artificial red bacos! For the money I spent I would expect real bacon.
We wIted in the end for over an hour for our food! There were only three other tables filled, so there is no reason for the wait. We couldn't even get a refill on our drink the entire time because the waitress pretty much ignored our table! When the got the steak it looked good in the plate, but when I bit in there was absolutely NO flavor at all! I don't even know how you do that to a steak. All I could taste was the overpowering flavor of steak seasoning. I would have done much better to have stayed home!
Even though the staff knew we were disappointed with our food there was no apology for the bad food or service and I am not one to beg for a refund. We left our food on the table and left for Terre Haute to our usual TGI Fridays, where upon hearing our mIsfortune on our first attempt at an anniversary dinner they offered us a free dessert with our meal. How about that? Extended service for another restraints mistake! Thank you Fridays for saving our anniversary! I will never return to SAMs and highly suggest going elsewhere.
Seeing how most of the people frequent the bar at SAMs, I guess having a drink or two makes any food taste good.

I have never been to your establishment, but would love to come there sometime. First I have to focus on getting better.I just had surgery on clearing up a bone infection and still have about three months of therapy. hopefully that will clear it up. I found your restaurant on line and I would love to come there and try your 48 oz steak challenge. I really think I can do it. I'm looking forward to coming there from MI. and trying your challenge!
