The lunch special at East China Inn has become less of a bargain than before, but the menu remains unchanged with consistently good food, including favorites like sweet and sour pork, Hunan Beef, and hand-made egg rolls that stand out from typical offerings. With attentive service, fresh and delicious dishes such as kung pao beancurd, crab rangoon, and pot stickers, this longtime Chinese restaurant in downtown Batavia continues to deliver a satisfying dining experience reminiscent of classic Americanized Chinese cuisine.

The lunch special may not be the same steal it used to be, but it's still a good option for a quick bite. The menu has stood the test of time, with favorites like sweet and sour pork and Mongolian Beef remaining consistently delicious. Don't forget to try the sizzling rice soup and Cho Cho beef sticks for some extra tasty surprises!

Rude girl lost all future business from me tonight. Called in our order at 8:25 ( they close at 9). When I placed the order she told me I would HAVE to be there in 5 minutes and I would HAVE to pay with a credit card. I told her it would be physically impossible for me to get there that quickly but I would leave right away and be there long before they closed at 9. She hung up on me. Wasn't sure if I even had an order until she called back a few minutes later for clarification on an item. At this point I REALLY wanted to tell her to shove my order, but I had several people depending on it. Got there to pick it up around 8:45 & the place was essentially closed. Once I was able to get in and get my order, I asked for her name. She told me Sandy (yeah, right...) I then apologized for making her do her job and told her to be sure to tell her boss I'd be spending my money elsewhere in the future. (Receipt indicates my server was "VAN") Got home and learned she'd called twice while I was gone, asking if I was on my way! I suggest the owner find an employee who does not close his store up early and who actually WANTS to work!
