We had been here once before, had the fish and chips, and it was good. We went today, and it was mid day, an odd time to eat, but it was after a doctor's appointment, and we were starving. I ordered the deep fried perch, with garlic mashed potatoes, and mixed vegtables. The meal came out instantly. The fish was not deep fried, everything was cold. I sent it back, and the waitress brought it back, saying "I nuked it a little bit more fore you". Not a good thing with fish. They were open 11-8, but obviously there was no cook back there, this was reheated food, and it was terrible. It was a huge disappointment. I was really looking forward to a good meal.

People from all surrounding counties and into Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky...take notice...this place is THE BEST!!!! The staff, the elegance, the owners....oh, and THE FOOD!!! This is a MUST on your list and you'd never guess that it's situated in downtown Rochester, Indiana. GO THERE!!! Ruth, thank you for being such a gracious hostess.

My first experience in July 2016 at Evergreen was very good. My second experience last night was a total disaster.
I took a friend out for her birthday dinner and I was extremely disappointed. My friend asked the waitress a question about an item on the menu only to receive a sarcastic reply back. The bar cheese appetizer had watered down cheese. Her prime rib was over cooked and they would only provide saffron rice as a side (no choice of any potatoes) and green beans. At $27.00 for prime rib you would hope that she would get her choice of a starch. One of the specials listed on the board was a rib eye (no price listed). When the rib eye came there was over 5 oz of inedible fat/grizzle and they still charged me $35 for that meal. Very overpriced and mediocre service. I will not be retuning and will recommend others forgo this place. Such a disappointing evening.
