We ate at the Lafayette Road location before they added on the Italian restaurant in the back. It used to be called Pizza Inn. It was a small front area where you grabbed a tray and ordered from a small window. They served pizza but had amazing fried chicken. This was in the mid to late 60’s. It was one of the few places our family could afford to go. THE WORKS SALAD IS OUTSTANDING!!!!!

Let Me tell you about Papa Joe's Junior. We ate at Papa Joe's when they were located on Lafayette Road. My husband and I ate there on our Wedding night and ate there for years, then Papa Joe's came Into being in Avon Indiana and we ate there for years. We now live in Austin Texas and Papa Joe's Jr. Is the first place we head to when we get into town. You will never find a better Lasagna or a Works Salad than this place. We have been customers since 1970. How about that?

I have always loved the works salad. It hasnt changed. Not real hip on the food. So I give it a 3. Order the works salad and you wont be disappointed.

Service was not to par! Spinach dip was god awful, sent it back ! Still tried to charge us for it (really) was out of 2 different wines which were different prices online!the phone kept ringing! Papa Joe would not be proud of this establishment at all ! Lafayette Rd was way better ! Miss momma June and papa Joe

I use to work at Papa Joe's Junior, and I don't complain much. However, when working there, waiters would grab food out of the customers plate before taking them to the table if they saw something they liked only to replace it with the exact same thing, the salad station was horrible, you can literally make your own salad at home with store bought groceries. The waiters and waitresses would put their bare hands, no gloves nor been washed, right in the bin where they held all the lettuce and dig around till they found certain pieces of lettuce they liked. Don't get me wrong, they mean to do well, but their food was not always the cleanest. It's disgusting. Not to mention, they treat their workers not the greastest. For a small little restaurant, they are not to nice.

I now live in Texas but I am moving back to Indy in the fall. I have ate at Papa's Joe's for over 20 years and my favorite is the
Work's Salad" with the creamy Italian dressing. I will be visiting this place when I come back and I hope they didn't change the reciepe for the Italian dressing. See you'all soon.
