Outside and interior was not welcoming. Creepy, dusty, plastic hanging plants inside. I never saw this at original Guy Wellivers.. You have destroyed all ambiance. The entrance windows were dirty and with horrible things on them. I know things are depressed but I could have made the place inviting and clean . I always order chicken livers. I have the original recipe I make at home. Yours were awful. If you would like to learn how to make them like they were back when just contact me. I know you have your own thing going on and must be what you are used to . Obviously you will not be able to keep up with Guy Welliver's presentation. It was embarrassing. The only thing that was good was the glass of cheap wine I was served.
Sorry. I will try again someday when I travel Home again. I really wish you success. I hope you can take constructive criticism. If that exterior looks like it did I will not try anything inside.

I had 4 people in our party that ate at the buffet on 12/7th. I am going to comment on the food. The marshmallow cream cheese salad was not very good. I came across chucks of cream cheese in it and that is the very first time that I have ever encountered this. I have been eating at this buffet for 30 to 40 years, even when Mr. Welliver was still alive. I also have this very same recipe.

2. the cinnamon bread was verrrry dry which should not have been. At one time, there used to be a bowl of icing that you could drizzle over the bread - not now.

3. The blackberry cobbler was COLD. My husband told the server about this and she came back with what was supposed to be hot but he said it was just lukewarm. The chess pie (I think it was called that) was not very good either.

If you wish to replicate this restaurant, than I would advise you to change your methods of cooking.

Also, I need to comment on our previous visit in Octoer, 2013 (2 months ago). In comparison to the food of Welliver's days, I would say it was comparable and was good. Why the BIG change in just 2 short months?

I like the variety in the food and the fried chicken was very good.

I also appreciated that you had Santa Claus there and the pictures were free to us which gave it a very nice touch. Thank you

Then we found out the city gave free carriage rides which was great. If I get a chance would like to bring my grandkids to take a ride.

Thank you Hagerstown!!!!!!!!!

Terrible, terrible service. I have been there twice in December and service was awful. No one came to apologize, etc. Today, we came at 12:15 p.m. and at 1:30 we still had no main meal (menu side). Management had only one waitress working the menu side. When we got up to leave, we tried to find the waitress or hostess to pay for our salads and waited for another 5 min. No one still showed up. There was only three of us. I frequent the restaurant several times a year, but no more.
