Looking for a restaurant early Tuesday morning and found a gem! Great breakfast! I'm in town till Thursday and I'll be there every morning. Great hash browns as he mixes in onion and cheese. Can't wait to try the pancakes.

Mostly good, but very disappointed in BLT. I can't believe you actually used the paper thin 'fake' bacon. I expected real bacon. Onion rings and pie were good.

A crew of guys goes to McGregor every summer for a few days of trout fishing on the Sny. We always stop at Maggie's. This year four of us had breakfast on a Friday Morning about 10AM. Laura was our server and she was terrific. All breakfasts were prompt, the coffee was delicious and plenty of it too. Best of all, we had the home made pie for dessert. (Yes we were having breakfast.) Heidi stopped by our table, I think she is the owner, and explained that a lady in town bakes all the pies- so yes, they are REALLY home made and to die for. Go for Ala mode.
On Saturday, we brought 9 of us over for lunch. It was probably about 1PM. Service was prompt and the cheese curds were great. They have their own fry there -- sort of like a home made potato chip and they were great. Molly was our server and with a little help from another gal had all our lunches out pretty much together, which is hard to do in a diner with one cook and one waitress.
We love the place, the staff and the food. One other note -- there is a hummingbird feeder just outside one of the windows and at breakfast we were treated with a couple of humming birds flying around. This place is a real IOWA treat and a must stop for anyone touring North Eastern Iowa!

Maggie's Dinner is a family owned and operated family dinner. The locals as well as tourist are treated like family friends. The service and food are always good.
