Way over priced!! 38.00 for a bowl of noodles and a small piece of red fish and four shrimp. The stuffed ribeye came out smelling burnt with with burnt something on top and as we kept looking for the ribeye it was not to be found 40.00?!? The chicken marcella was not good. Everything was $10-15 higher than Amerigos or other seafood restauraunts. Almost 4.00 for a glass of tea? Two plates were 89.00 by the time you were forced to pay 15% tip. No, we wont be back.

Way over priced I paid 45.00 for 14 ounce ribeye with Cajun sauce ,baked potatoe with absolutely nothing on it and a salad .highway robbery !

Special occasions are not their strong suit. Let me start by saying that our waitress was a pleasure and that was the only thing pleasurable about this experience. We made reservations for Mother's Day at 12:30 pm for a party of 9. We showed up with 8 and we walked thru the door at 12:25 pm and the place was packed. As we stood there and no one greeting us except the 25 other people waiting in line, I stopped a lady and asked to see the hostess. She informed me that she would seat us as soon as someone got up. She said,"I can't make people get up or rush them. You will have to wait." I informed her that I had reservations and the other people standing there informed her that they also had reservations. The lady said we will all be sat as soon as she can. As I stood there in the middle of the restaurant (because there is no waiting area) talking to the other people waiting, I realized that this very small restaurant had reservations for 2 parties of 9 and 1 party of 15 all booked for the same time and the lady I spoke to let a walk in party of 13 come right in 10 minutes before all of our reservations. The restaurant was so full that all of us had to wait. My 1st mind said leave but I stayed due to it being Mother's Day and I knew at this time we would have to wait anywhere now. My brother in law, who was with us, is in a wheel chair. When they finally sat us it was at a booth and a table that they did not even bother pulling together so we could sit together, but I moved on. It was 1 pm by the time we ordered and 3 pm when my food came. My appetizers were cold and my steak was extremely over cooked (asked for medium and it came well done) You all remember the 1st lady I spoke to that told us to wait, well come to find out, she is Monte's wife! When I sent my steak back, 40 minutes later the steak came back and my entire family had eaten. I asked to speak to Monte or his wife, Monte refused to come out and his wife came to the table and tried to make me feel I was being out of line by telling her about how bad my experience was. She also tried to make me feel bad for calling her to my table to tell her about the experience when it was other people in the restaurant waiting on their food. I told her it was very rude of her to act this way and then she took my food back and said now you don't have to pay for it. But when they brought my ticket out it still had the meal on it. They took another 20 minutes to remove it. Monte finally came out to greet customers but still never came to my table. All I really wanted was an apology because they over booked and over cooked and we had to wait 2 and a half hours to get cold appetizers. I will never go back to Monte's and if there is a holiday or special occasion, I would advise you not to go there either. If you like respect, this is not the restaurant to go to. If you like good customer service, do not go here. If you like for your food to come out hot, try somewhere else. If you like your steak cook to order, try Char. If you like to be sat with your entire party, maybe any other restaurant in Byram. If you like to make reservations that will be honored, maybe Table 100 is the place......but defiantly NOT MONTE'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And to the other 2 parties that were there that had to wait even longer than we did, I hope the rest of your Mother's Day was wonderful.

We had our monthly Girl's Night Out here recently and it was wonderful. There were no complaints. Everything was delicious!!! Monte and his staff were courteous and friendly. The Stuffed Shrimp was to die for!

Have never ordered anything that wasn't GREAT!!!! The sauces are the best ever had. Monte's is #1 choice when deciding where to dine out. Great menu selection to delight anything your taste buds may be craving. Also, to go along with the terrific food, the atmosphere is quiet so that you can enjoy conversation with your dining partner. If I were on death row, my last meal would be requested from Monte's. If you have never tried it, Monte's is Jackson's best kept secret!!!!!

WOW! THIS FOOD IS ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING. EVERY DISH HAS A SUACE THAT WILL LEAVE YOU WANTING TO LICK YOUR PLATE! EXCELLENT SEAFOOD! EXCELLENT VEAL AND EXCELLENT CAJUN PASTAS!
