This has got to be the most unprofessional place in the city to dine. I made reservations for a party of 12 inside the restaurant for 7pm. When I arrived the restaurant was closed. When I made the reservations, along with my callback number, no one told me that the restaurant would be closed at that time. These people had plenty of time to contact me and inform me and let me know that. Then, I went to the bar area where a few members of my party had already arrived and there was nothing set up. I informed the clerks at the front desk that I was supposed to have a table set up. Of course, the people at the front desk had no idea what I was talking about. I was told to check with one of the servers and that I will have to have the tables set up in the bar area. First of all, I made the reservations for the restaurant. Who wants to have a birthday dinner in the bar area that is no bigger than a closet?!

My guests that arrived before I did had already notified the server of the reservations and he just simply said that “no one told him about it.” So when I arrived, the server came over and asked what could he get us and I had to inform him of the situation yet again. He was acting like it was okay that since no one told him about the reservations, then we should just be okay with that and accept the sub-par customer service. After waiting an hour, the tables finally get set up in the bar area at 8pm after 8 of my guests had already arrived. After we were seated, there were no menus on the table and the server asks are we ready to place our orders? First of all, we didn’t have any menus so how are we going to place an order and secondly, he did not even ask us if we wanted anything to drink. So after he brought us the menus, we never saw him again. So I just decided to leave and go dine elsewhere. The service was tacky and horrible. The whole place was just unprofessional. I wouldn’t tell my worst enemy to eat at this piss hole.

And lastly, why we were waiting, a vagrant just walked in and was drinking out of the half full beer bottles that previous customers left on the tables. What kind of establishment allows stuff like this to happen???

BOTTOM LINE: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

I was at the Jackson Restaurant Week Kick-Off Party and tasted a great appetizer from Executive Chef Nick Wallace. This prompted me to make a dinner reservation at the King Edward Grill for for a party of 3. The pasta Bordelaise, Hanger Steak, and the Encrusted Red Fish were all prepared exceptionally well. Serena the server, was very accommodating and provided us with down-home southern hospitality. By the way, Chef's homemade lemon cheesecake is TO DIE FOR! Definitely recommend.

The service was great! The food was horrible, steaks so tuff your pit bull could not chew it! Very limited wine list, no bread, they ran out on Friday,go figure!!!!! Free dessert because the dinner was so horrible, it sucked too!! The tab was over $250.00, had to eat a snack when i got home!!!!!! Somebody should tell them to run down the block and borrow some bread from the Mayflower, wait, maybe I should have gone to the Mayflower!!!!!!!!
