Visited the Lees Summit, MO Chipman Rd location. We were told it would be a short wait and directed to have a seat in the waiting area. I sat down and back, smacking my head on some weird ledge. The host staff though it was extremely funny, fine...I get it. We were seated and asked "what do you want to drink". We asked for Dr.Pepper and received two strawberry lemonade. No big deal. We placed our entire order of fajitas, two kids meals and an app. The drinks were replaced and shortly after, we received our app. As we sat close to the POS entering the kitchen, a variety of staff were bickering and cussing along with a young manager. Still not a big deal. We consistently watched others after us get their food and after 45 mins, the server realized she forgot the rest of the order as we watched two manager and our server talking amongst themselves and looking at us as she punched the order. A female manager walked by and said " she plating up your food." 10 mins later, other wait staff arrived w the food. As soon as it hits the table, a young manager arrives and asks how it tastes before we could even stick a fork in it. I said,I haven't even tried it yet and asked why it took do long. He said, "I have no idea but I'm 98 percent sure she didn't forget the order." Seriously?
I said we can hear and see what you all were saying and doing at the POS. He instantly became upset and said, ill get you the other manager since you want to call me a liar! At this point, we were done with dinner. We stood up (my gfriend, her girls of 8 and 4 years, and was met by the other manager. Before I could get anything out of my mouth, she said he was being cursed at by us and called a liar. My girlfriend now started to argue w the male manager as he walked away and yelled at my gfriend to get some people skills and leave! Now I came unglued, yelling and now cursing at him to watch his @$%#@$ mouth when addressing my people. He threatened action from the police and when asked his name, the female managers name AND the GM, I was told to get it from the chilis website! This got the attention of all the patrons and staff in the resturant. Now a very big deal!!!
We are in the hospitality industry as well. Never in a million years, would I speak to a guest that provokes a physical altercation, especially those that have young children in tow. Chilis is supposed to be a family friendly atmosphere. None of what occurred was ok. This manager needs to be removed. If not, I seriously doubt this will be the last complaint against him or this location.
