I used to live in the Westport area about 20 years ago and always loved the Pizza at Torre's. I have often bragged about it over the years. Last week I took a friend there and was really looking forward to the best pizza in Kansas City.

First of all, I have to say, the Torre's of today is nothing as I remember it.

The place was dingy, run down and dirty.

Business was slow, even for a Wednesday evening.

We were the only non-drinking customers that night.

The bartender reluctantly took our order. I requested a large combination.

After about 30 minutes, the pizza was brought out to us.

It appeared much smaller than I recalled from past visits.

In fact, it was a medium.

The crust was undercooked and toppings were skimpy.

I was disappointed, to say the least. My friend was so unimpressed that he vowed to never eat at Torre's again.

What was once my favorite pizza place is now a bad memory.

I'll stick to Minsky's, or even the awful Pizza Hut, rather than ever giving Torre's another dime of my business.

Don't waste your time, or the time of the dis-concerned employees of Torre's Westport.

Save your money!
