I've lived in York for over 20 years and only recently discovered Amato's in Kittery. My husband suggested trying a new pizza place, so I called in an order for two pizzas at Amato's. The friendly man at the counter made the wait pleasant, and when the pizzas were ready, he handed them over with well-wishes for a good night. The ride home was torture as the delicious aroma filled the car, and when we finally dug into the pizzas, they were loaded with sauce, cheese, and toppings, prompting me to eat more than usual - I'll definitely be returning for more. The veggie Italian is usually my go-to, but the pizza was a delightful change. While it may not top Alex's in Biddeford, Amato's offers a solid option, particularly for their Classic ham sub that's become my new favorite.
