The food and service were fantastic at Manny's! The bacon burger was delicious, and Manny's cooking right behind the grill added to the old-school diner charm. The lake view across the road was a nice touch, making the wait worth it.

This is quite a place. Watching him cook is a sight. Want an omelet- pow here it comes. How about a couple of eggs - wham here they are. Hope you like large orders of food because that is what you get. Manny is a super guy. Always has time to talk. Place is packed but worth the wait. I think I'll be there today for a late breakfast.

I used to live in Twin Lakes, and this place was my regular. I am not sure I miss much about Twin Lakes, but I certainly miss Manny's Snack Shack. Manny would read our lips, have the order finished cooking prior to the waitress finishing closing her order pad and then we would be served a three egg omelet that must have been ostrich eggs. Next time I am in Chicago I will make the trip up. Not sure if they still serve smelt for lunch.
