We have enjoyed the Stage Stop for over 25yrs. This recent visits was a disappointment. Started with a drink at the bar and sad to say the old fashions were pretty bad. After being seated we met our waitress who was very professional and very nice. The we received our small boring salads with a dab of salad dressings to choose from. Our $54 steak was thin and frankly tasteless. The nights special was a huge lobster- yummy right? Wrong. Tough & undercooked on the underside. Yuk. The potatoes that we used to brag about were presented whole and unbuttered , just no presentation whatsoever. In all it was a very expensive night that left us very disappointed. We are looking for a new favorite steak place.

review_stars 12/18/2021 - Overpriced, with a Nazi hostess, and has an off duty sheriff to harass and intimidate the patrons
Were to begin? When we just got in and the waiter is rushing us because they will need the table even though we made our reservation over a week ago?
Or should I start with the nazi hostess they have that goes to the tables and tell their patrons to get up and leave before we even finish paying the bill?
Maybe I should start reporting that the cook who is at least 6’3” tall aproached our party with an attitude yelling at us?
Or better yet, should I start with the “off duty sheriff David who CAME AFTER US” to harass and intimidate us when we were already in the parking lot, and told us to leave even though we have done nothing, just paid the $300.00 for the overpriced, tasteless food? Again, we were already at the parking lot going to our cars.
Start reading other reviews and you will notice a pattern of the Nazi hostess telling the customers to leave…
as soon as she needs the table get ready you will be the next to be thrown out of this restaurant, despite the 30 years you have gone there.

Had always enjoyed in past with a fantastic museum historian. She's gone and the replacement knows nothing. New policy- when making reservations, credit card is required w/$10 per person fee if we cancel.
So we specified dining room with reservation. 30 minutes after reservation time they attempted to seat us in the bar. We reiterated that we had specified the dining room. Then told it would be a much longer wait. When asked about new credit card fee for reservation, we were told that had been policy for 3 years. Lie! His supervisor came and explained that the dining room tables had all been reserved but she had a nice window table in the lounge. We again said we had reserved a dining room table. She said there had been a miscommunication and the lounge table that she was offering was a preferred window table. My window view was of the gas station. Not exactly picturesque and certainly not highly sought especially as we were merely 10 feet from the bar. Nor was it what was reserved especially after waiting 30 minutes. Food is good but so are quite a number of places. The historian is what had made this place stand out head and shoulders above the rest. She's gone, credit card fee if we canceled even with the 30 minute wait, poor table and a lie- we will NOT be back as it's "just another steakhouse". Too many other restaurants with great food, great service, and no $10 per charge fee per head.

I have to say, we had great service. The filet was undercooked...no problem they took it and cooked it more ( a bit too much). It tasted like an inferior cut of meat. Tasteless and grainy. Seriously? Had mushrooms- $5.95 for 6 little shrooms. Rolls were gross. . Not a good value or quality one would expect.
Won’t go back...Yuk!
