The meal was decent (Fish and Chips) and came from the kitchen quickly. The bar-tender was a little overloaded which slowed his service, but he was friendly enough that I didn't mind much. My beer was satisfactorily cool but not ice-cold, still it was acceptable. The sports coverage (European Soccer and American Basketball) was nice. I'm no longer used to smoking at the bar, but it seemed well enough ventilated that I didn't really notice. The other patrons were very friendly and I was able to strike up good conversation. Newport seems like a very nice place.
