Carr's Steakhouse was named by the National Restaurant Assocation as their Restaurant Neighbor Award Winner out of all independent restaurants.
The restaurant's menu focuses on superb steaks, Carr's famous BBQ, big hand-crafted burgers, and Southern-inspired cuisine.
The steakhouse features a large dining room with a combination of tables, booths, and larger tables for groups of 6-12. It also boasts an inviting bar space that offers a number of small tables, a large table at the end of the bar, and a long bar top that provides 16 seats. The bar showcases an excellent selection of Kentucky bourbons, craft beer, a wide array of wines including sweet wines from local winery Purple Toad and hand-crafted barrel aged wines that pair nicely with the restaurants fire-grilled steaks and hickory smoked BBQ. The restaurants bar also crafts classic and bourbon infused cocktails. Off the bar is the restaurants private dining area that offers space to reserve for parties, gatherings, meetings, and other special events. It accommodates groups of up to 60 guests. The steakhouse also utilizes the space for their Wine & Craft Beer Dinners, & Bourbon Inspired Dinners as well. Beyond the bar and private room is the restaurants open air dining and entertaining space, which can be reserved as well, but usually offers a place for live entertainment, charity fundraisers and other functions, and a space for our smoking guests to enjoy themselves.
The building structure is rich in history. The row of three buildings that the restaurant now occupy date back to the late 1800s, and are located just two blocks from the court square. Most notable is the Shelton Building, which is where the dining room is positioned now. In the early 1900s it was home to the Shelton Buggy Company and sold many of the buggies and carriages that rolled through the streets of Mayfield. Aside from the buildings rich history, vintage pictures of the community adorn many of the walls of the restaurant, giving patrons a glimpse of an earlier time in town.
Carr's Steakhouse is family owned and operated. The family found success with their food nearly 75 years ago when they opened the Carr's Barn Café across the street. They have long prided themselves on having some of the region's best BBQ, and now with the steakhouse they have expanded that excellence to flame-grilled steaks, big burgers, and southern-inspired cuisine that keeps guests coming back. Providing each customer with an exceptional dining experience through solid service, and fantastic food is the restaurants goal and mission. We hope to serve you soon.

The food is amazing, the prices are reasonable, the owner and his sons are super friendly and always there, and the bartender makes amazing drinks!
