Marlsgate Plantation is an incredible venue for weddings and special events. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. My daughter's rehearsal dinner was a memorable experience that we will cherish forever.

I am definitely not a grits person. My husband and I were invited to join his boss and a few coworkers to dinner at Marlsgate Plantation. I have to admit when he told me we were having shrimp and grits I was not looking forward to the evening. The plantation mansion is absolutely amazing with stunning views and rich in historic art and deco. Once we were seated for dinner I was completely surprised the grits were not the clumpy little hard things I had tried in the past, these were absolutely amazing topped with roasted peppers and Cajun shrimp I can say I am definitely a Marlsgate grits kind of girl. Thank you to Marybeth and Beau for the absolute best experience.

Attended a wedding there. Worst food I have ever had at a wedding. They served what they called gumbo with rice that was crunchy. Oh, so bad. However, I could have overlooked the terrible food had the host not been so rude to my 87 year old mother. She was hot and needed a cool place to sit and he would not allow it. He was like a dictator the entire evening telling people when to eat, where to sit, etc. So awful. If you are going to be a host, you have to be friendly. He was not.

Attended a valentine celebration with friends Feb 2021 and Beau Talbot (the owner) started the evening off with a toast to Donnie Johnny Trump. We where told by our friend who invited us to the valentines celebration that we would be served top shelf wine, beef filet and dessert. The main course was chunks of beef in a gravy over rice, bad wine and a tasty dessert. This was at a cost of $150 per couple. Beau Talbot was rude, food and wine was over priced and atmosphere unpleasant at best.

Marlsgate could do a better job explaining their heritage of slavery

Such an unfortunate decision on our part to have booked an event here. There was a miscommunication about the time of our event and the owners of the venue were horrendously rude about it. I re-read our written communication with the venue and to be honest as for fault it could go either way. However, the rudeness is inconceivable and I'm quite surprised they still have bookings. Food was on the low end of moderately, the cake was inedible.
