Zazou has been around since 1996. Eclectic without being ponderous and creative without being careless, Zazou's menu will tantalize and prod the diner to look beyond the ordinary into the extraordinary without having to worry about crossing over into the bizarre. Its name stems from a French word for "hip" or "in vogue" and its moniker is "cuisine of the sun." It has managed to embrace both very well. Subtle enhancements on popular dishes like their tuna tartar with a burst of tart apples for crunch and acidity tames the richness of the fish and Kalmata olive. Cranberry reduction sauces with pork or game, savory pastries featuring salmon or duck and exciting fish like blue nose bass and escolar leap off the menu to delight and challenge the inquisitive diner. Of course, offering these choices would not be possible without the expert staff to help guide the customer in to creating a meal that will embody all the flavors the diner is hungry for. From the kitchen and wait staff to the management team, the average length of service is 5 years or more. This unheard of record in the restaurant business accounts for the tremendous success Zazou has garnered since its opening. Each diner can feel at ease as well as excited about the dining possibilities that await. At the core of the creative process is chef/owner Guy Gabriele. He not only possesses a keen business sense, but also a passion for food and wine culled from his studies all over the world with many of the greatest chefs of our era. Under his mindful palate, Café Pierre has become a "world" restaurant, culling creative offerings from Asia, Italy, South America, France and the Middle East just to name a few. His demands are quite simple. Take only the best ingredients and bring out their flavors, keeping in touch with each dish's authentic roots, and combining them with his own take on the matching of food, flavors and wines. Once again, no meal would be complete without fine wine and Zazou delivers with the same passion and commitment it has toward its food. Conveniently organized between Old World and New World, its wine list features some 200 selections at very competitive prices to please any palate. A progressive glass wine program allows the adventurous to try many different wines without worrying about the budget. Zazou's ambiance invites you in and, once in, begs you to stay. The warm fall tones mixed with tributes to the sun matches with the warm greeting and fun food. Located at 1810 South Catalina Avenue in Redondo Beach, Zazou represents both form and fashion in a handsome setting.

So, good! Great food and a great staff! The cocktails are also not to be missed! Try the melted brie, the filet and the floating island, but everything else is divine as well!
