In reading some of the reviews, I disagree. The staff is more than friendly. I've never seen anyone get 'extra-special' service. Nor have I ever felt that the staff was snobby. This is a place where you can host a party!
The food is delicious, the service is fast, and I eat there whenever I can. Alone or with friends.
I love the Tomato Basil Pie, the chicken salad on a croissant is what I've been hooked on lately. Their special tea is delightful, as is the hot tea. Dessert is always the crepe...full sized, of course.
In all the years, I've only had a long wait one time. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. It's yummy!

My favorite is the stuffed hamburger. My family refers to it as "the Worlds Best Hamburger". I love the peanut butter pie, ...melts in your mouth! You owe it to yourself to also try the Demi of cream of shrimp with a square of cornbread.
Have eaten there for years and never been disappointed!

The food is very good. I completely agree that some of the staff is snooty. The soft drinks are very very flat. Just because some of this small town's mucky mucks go there is no excuse for snooty service. Prices are high too.

The reason why there is a "snooty" atmosphere is because only " the best of the best" in town go to the Cottage for lunch. If you are looking for someone to give you a kiss on the cheek before you walk through the door, go somewhere else. But as for the food, the Cottage is the best lunch place in town. From the tea to the desserts to the soups and cornbread, its just awesome. I have never been disappointed and always leave full but still wanting more.

Locally owned. Pleasant atmosphere. GREAT FOOD. Try the stuffed hamburger. The owner is on site during business hours. This really makes a difference in a restaurants quality, service and consistency. You will not be disappointed.

Person anwering the phone is curt and rude.
The food is very good. The soft drinks are
flat. I have had to wait about an hour for
food and 20 minutes for service. The owners
are rather "snooty."
