The Black Bear Inn in Cottage Grove delivers classic Wisconsin bar fare with friendly service and a warm, family-oriented atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome. The menu offers a surprising variety of options, from hearty fish fries and ghost pepper cheese curds to flavorful sandwiches like the chicken parmesan and Dave's Favorite Chicken, all prepared with care and consistency. Whether dining in or grabbing takeout, the community-focused staff and cozy log cabin-like dining room create a memorable experience that keeps me coming back whenever I'm in the area.

Just a typical Wisconsin bar with some good old fish fry and cheese curds. They've got a nice selection of cold beers on tap too. The place might not look like much from the outside, but step in and you'll find a cozy log cabin-like dining room that's surprisingly charming. The food options are diverse - I was pleasantly surprised by their crab legs and ended up going for a tasty chicken parmesan sandwich. Overall, a solid spot for a relaxed dinner in Cottage Grove.

Went for my birthday lunch. They need to change grease more often. It was a gross birthday luch. A Monday. It ought to have been new grease. They have turned me away from onion rings and fish sandwiches forever.

Went there Sun Sept 15 2012 with my 2 adult kids. Upon arrival the waitress told us to sit
where wanted to. We sat near the pool table. We waited and waited for a waitress to bring us a
menu. It was interesting to observe the patrons at the bar so very well serviced. Truly that was the priorty! After 15 minutes we got up to leave. I did warn some people who recently come in and sit nearby that we where leaving because we had not seen a waitress since we cleared the front door 15 minutes ago. Pherhaps they would have better luck than we did. WILL NEVER GO BACK !
