We always frequent Basie's for their excellent steak and drinks. The bartender Paul is witty and knows his stuff. Friendly and accommodating.

Went last night after receiving a gift certificate and also checking the menu on Basie's website. Happy about gift certificate and menu looked great (on line). Got there none or VERY few of the items listed on the on line menu was on the real menu. We had the Friday night fish fry -- terrible (Van Kemp's frozen is what it was like). Drinks were expensive and weak -- lots of ice, no content. Would not go back.

Awsome place. It's the best kept secret in west side of Madison. Food is great, best in town. Friendly environment.
