The Village Green Bar and Grill's juicy burgers, crispy buffalo wings, and flavorful mac 'n cheese definitely live up to the hype! Totally worth a visit!

Stopped in last Friday for Fishfry. It was busy yet tables open and we were told to seat ourselves. Wait staff came quickly and asked for drink orders. We ordered a beer each and the half and half fish shrimp combo. Food arrive surprisingly quickly. It was not good! Fries were pale, warm on outside, cool and grainy inside. Fish was coated in a thick dry, very salty cornmeal batter. One piece the smaller-clearly the tail end of a fillet. "Ill go check with someone." Server returned saying, " The cook/manager wants to see it. Is that all right?" I put my piece of fish on a napkin ad it was carried to kitchen. Instead of returning with a fresh piece of cooked fish, the server returned with a question. "What do you want? A couple dollars off or another piece of fish?" Astounded, I asked for another piece of fish. My baked potato was cool and semi firm; not raw, but not really done. There was no butter or sore cream with it. There was one pat of butter on the thick slick of soft white broaden the plate. I wasn't sure if the butter was for the bread or the potato. There were no Im sorry's.
When we got the bill, we couldn't understand it. All prices were more than stated on the menu. There was a total then a tax line amt. Finally, we figured out that each item we ordered had been taxed as it was entered. So, a $5.00 item was entered as $5.20. Yet what was the extra tax for??
At the register, the cashier asked how our meal was. My husband replied "not very good". "What was wrong?" He replied the fish was under cooked and fries were cold; the response -- "OH."
ing? Cashier first replied, I don't know. We asked again and pointed out our questions and concerns.
With disgust, the bill was carefully reviewed and then, "That extra tax is the credit card fee."
"We haven't tried to pay yet. Why is there a credit card fee?"
"Oh, we just add it on and take it off if you pay with cash."
!!! So the total bill reflects prices with tax which is not differentiated from food/drink bill. Seems like an attempt to garner more tips to me. And credit card charge was "hidden" so if we had left a=cash at table we would have paid the credit card fee unknowingly.
We will not be back!

i just ate one of the best burgers ever. It was a bacon bleu burger with grilled onion on grilled rye. WOW. The burger was perfectly cooked medium well the onion was also perfectly cooked. There was plenty of crispy bacon and the rye was nice and thick and could hold up to the burger.

Always loved going to the Village Green. Last time I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The lettuce was all brown on the ends. Not appealing at all. The waiter just took it away and never offered to redo the salad. Disappointing!
