If you go to the White House restaurant and don't get the fried clams, you might be crazy. They are amazing and fresh.

We read an article on the "new" Whitehouse Restaurant, and it sounded good. Homemade mashed potatoes, hand cut french fries--what's not to like? As it turns out, neither boasts are true. I ordered the fish and chips specifically for the "hand cut" fries--but, they weren't! They were frozen. Foodie that I am, I knew that when I tasted them, but asked the very nice waiter, and he didn't know, so said he'd check. It took about 10 minutes to get back and tell us that no, they were not hand cut. Was that such a difficult question. We also knew the "homemade" mashed weren't. I told the waiter how disappointed I was about the fries, and when we finished, we waited to see the bill. No adjustment was made. I asked to see the owner at the register, and he was, shall we say, not forthcoming. The fish, in all fairness, was not bad. Prices are high. It bothers me when people lie about what they are serving. We'll never go there again.
