- The cassava is grated, the starch is removed, and the fiber of the tuber remains. To prepare: 1. Boil hot water 2. Add boiling water in bowl. Add Garri by sprinkling slowly until all parts of the bowl with water have been covered with Gari. 3. Cover and let sit for 3-5 minutes. 4. Turn with spatula, folding into ball shape. 5.
