Mywife and myself were passing through Standish and thought to stop at Tony's Taco and see what he had to offer. We had heard on great his tacos were so we decided to try one. We looked at the menu an seen that the prices were a little high so we figured that they st be a good size taco We each order a regular taco at $3.45 each. They we really small, very small for$3.45 and very wet and not all that great. Can get a better taco at Taco Bell for a lot less money. Sorry Tony no more.

We plan our trip to oscoda to make certain Tony's is open. The stand is awesome. The Taco's are so fresh and tasty. Glad to see he got a new trailer this year...now he has room for Diners Drive in and Dives to visit. My mouth is watering just thinking about Tony's food. don't miss this one!!

Anyone heading home from Oscoda this weekend should make certain they stop and have a taco at Tony's. Who knows you could even bring one home to your boyfriend who missed you so much this weekend. Bring me a Taco you know how I like them Be careful and I will c my littl Taco soon. This place should be parked next to the Y for some really good munching..

My son and I have been stopping at Tony's for years on our way up to camp in the summer and on the way back. Our record one year was five times. I go out of my way for Tony's tacos or burritos. My only complaint is that they don't always have tamales we can order to go. Tony is the real deal folks, a must try.

I was just doing a short trip north to Oscoda. And stopped in for a bite to eat. The price was good and the food tasted great. Service was very good. And for someone to think that Taco Bell is better has bad taste in Mexican food. I made a special trip on the way back the next day to have lunch again. Very good food and thanks TONY.

I love Tony's and no it not closed down just moved back to old location. Taco bell is not Mexican food and should not me compared to real Mexican food.

review_stars 08/28/2009 - Horrible~~ One Star is too many!
For years I passed the old Tony's Taco's and wondered if it was good, then I noticed that Tony moved from a trailer to a building and my husband and I stopped for the first time today 8/28/09 on the way up north.

YUCK!!! Taco bell across the street is much better trust me!
I new we were in trouble when the chips and salsa placed on the table were not home made. What mexican resturant doesn't make there own chips? Then the pictures on the menu looked horrible. Me and my husband just looked at each other and wondered what we had gotten ourselves into. My husband order the Taco Macho ( a buritto basically) Dry flour tortilla with ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese. Asked for a hot sauce and the waitress pointed to bottles on the counter that we could buy!!! HUH? Don't you serve hot sauce? Isn't Tony's Taco a Mexican Resturant?
I got a corn taco ( also a choice of flour) and a small quesadella. The taco was a joke for $3. Cold corn shell, not a fresh deep fried one like expected. Even taco bell warms the corn shells, Ground beef was tasteless, NO SEASONING!! Quesadella wasn't much better. Tasteless chicken!
Would never go back and would never recommend.
Also note that this was a lunch time Friday afternoon, 6 waitress's and 3 tables of customers. Service was horrible. Girls were at front counter talking and ignoring customers.
Horrible food!!!!

I LOVED to eat at Tony's on our way up north but now that they moved to into a building the food lost quality! NOT TO MENTION THE SERVICE. I saw 5 tables leave while I waited an hour to get 3 tacos that I ordered. It is a shame but they need help getting this place together so they don't loose it. I suggest getting more help in the kitchen and more experience waitstaff (very unprofessional). They represent a business and do not do a good!!!

Good luck! Hope you pull through! It not go back to the stand it was better food there!

one of the best place in the U.S if not the world and i heard that he going to go in the old chineese place so then we wont have to wait out in the cold

Absolutely the best, most authentic Mexican food I've had "up north." I'm only sorry that they don't have an enclosed sit-down area for the colder months...but even when the snow flies it's still worth ordering food and eating in your car!

Tony's is an absolutely great place to eat. It's sad, because some people refuse to give it a try, it being in a small trailer, on M-23. But honestly once you give it a try, you will see that the food is delicious, fresh, and authentic. They are very friendly there, and you can't beat the prices. We lived in that area, and have now moved out of state, and it's one of the top things we look forward to when we come to visit.

For years, my wife and I would drive rights past Tony's Tacos. The best description I can give is that Tony's is housed in a short trailor off of US-23 next to some kind of warehouse/cement plant. When we finally stopped to give it a try we had to wait in line with other sojourners driving back home downstate. The food is incredible. Everything is fresh and made to order. The eggs rancheros with charizo, the burritos, refreid beand and rice, etc. are tremendous. I love mexican food and have sampled mexican food made in the US and Mexico. Tony's is, without question, the best mexican food ever. The cost is low and value sky high. If you're driving on US-23 in Standish, pull into the parking lot and give Tony's a try. You'll crave like we do.
