Eat here on occasion, my daughter and I had a wonderful breakfast a few weeks back. Last night I order hamburger basket to go, after watching my grandson for the night I call order in on my way home. The hamburger deluxe was raw and cold. So diappointed!

I frequent Grove Street Cafe EVERY week, usually 2 to three times a week. On a normal business day I will arrive at Grove Street just after 6 PM. I would consider myself a "regular" and most of the wait-staff know me. The staff is alwasy pleasant and professional. The food is usually very good. My only complaint up until this morning (July 22 at approximately 9 AM), was that the cooks started puttting potatoes in the chicken noodle soup. I just figured not for me, I won't order Chicken noodle soup at Grove Street anymore!
This morning, however, has made me rethink my faithful patronage to Grove Street Cafe. A fairly tall, somewhat attractive young blonde with a bluish-green streak in her hair and a very tight bright pink tea shirt displaying her nipples happened to wait on me. Oh my goodness. I cannot recall being waited on in any restaurant EVER with such rudeness and disrespect. I did not mind waiting 23 minutes to get waited on (actually it took 23 minutes for her to come clear the table, in slow motion I might ad). After 25 minutes she decided I might be worthy of a cup of coffee which she served to me in a dirty mug! Since she did not return to my table I went up to the counter to ask for a clean cup, displaying the dirty one. I mean it was noticeably dirty....lipstick on the rim. She took the cup and literally threw it a good foot into a bus tub. She then stomped across the floor to the coffee pot. Poured a cup, stomped back and slammed it down in front of me, coffee all over the counter. I was quite embarrassed. She, on the otherhand, thought nothing of it other than she had gotten the better of me.
I returned to my table like a compliant customer. Ten minutes later (it was getting to be a joke now with other customers in the booths across from me) the young waitress finally took my small order of a breakfast sandwich, which I felt guilty giving her! I asked to have it on a bagle with pepperjack cheese. She responded with a huge sigh and an "I guess so!" The bagel sandwich arrived a time later. It was pretty good, however, she did not know that because not once did this young lady return to ask me if I wanted a refill of coffee or if everything was ok.
I went up to the counter when finished to get my bill and pay. Incidently, I never did see a bill. I waited for her to finish talking with someone in the back kitchen area (could see her through the door),she came out, told me how much I owed and I paid. Not once did she say thankyou, have a nice day! A gentleman at the counter started laughing and teasing her to smile, in which she responded "not in this stupid place". I did tip her $1.00 for a $6.00 breakfast.
Incidently, the breakfast sandwich was excellant, except it had swiss cheese and not paperjack! But I ate it just the same.
