Extremely poor experience. Was seated and forgotten for over half an hour on a Wednesday night. After we were served, one meal was acceptable, the other was incredibly bad. Risotto should have a flavor beyond watery minute rice. It should have butter, cream, wine, herbs, something...ANYTHING. Our Risotto tasted like, swear to God...wet clumped Minute Rice. The texture of the rice was horrible with a couple of wilted spinach leaves and three mushrooms. When our server asked if they should box it for me, since it was largely untouched after the first couple of awful bites, I explained that the one dinner was fine, but I thought the Risotto had something wrong with it, even asked it to be taken to the kitchen and tasted, or investigated because ingredients were missing. I was told "Sorry, there's nothing I can do." And given the bill. Endless waiting on every element and left hungry because the food was sincerely bad.

Our family has been eating at Canal Street Cafe’ for years while we hike a day or camp at Ft. Custer State Park. I have nothing but perfect raves about every meal and salad I’ve eaten. Fresh, local, artistic and delicious spice to meal combo. The desserts are just as pleasant. It’s excellent.

Had to go back and try the corned beef and cabbage. OMG Delicious! Tried the grasshopper Creme brûlée also, they need to have this all the time...

Not sure what Rick is talking about. The restaurant has been on take out only since November. Was not open for dine in until February. Had another fantastic meal tonight. The wings were amazing! As always! Very clean, love the new paint job. Very warm and cozy. Thank you Canal Street Cafe, we will be back......

Best food I have had in a year! So glad canal st made it! It was so nice to come in and have a wonderful staff greet and serve you. Food was absolutely better than I remember!!

What a difference stop in a year ago to eat here had some wonderful wings well gone are those wonderful wings. Now some horrible owner that is not taking COVID seriously with her mask on strutting around like she is somehow important. I don’t what happen to this place butt I do not reccomend
