Top Reviews of Lange's Cafe

Former shadow of its self, so sad this Historic piece of Americana has faded.
I have visited Lange's Cafe yearly for the last 45 years. Now we had not been there since 2019 due to the pandemic. So we were so excited to return on 5/30/2021. Our anticipation was soon a letdown. The Cafe was dirty, floors un-swept, tables un-bused. Our service was lacking, with missing drinks and sides that we had to remind the staff we never received. Staff upon being reminded stated they were back of the house staff and not front of the house staff, but help anyway. Both I, my spouse, and daughter, ordered shakes, which my wife and daughter didn't finish due to they were this side of flavored milk, so thin they spooned like soup, mostly milk with maybe one scoop of ice cream, never before was it like this. My spouse's coleslaw had a chunk of ham in it, we have no idea why! I know Steve sold the Cafe, I am afraid the new owners are not up to the standards of the past. Even the bake goods, which I bought some donuts, a piece of pie, and bars were so not what we remember from the past. So sad to see this tradition has come to an end. I am in my later 50's and have been eating at Lange's since I was a boy, as we travel to Marshall MN for family visits. I don't know if I will stop ever again, it was that poor all of the way around.

My friend and I go camping at Anderson's several times in the summers and we always stop at Langes for breakfast before getting to the campground. Yrs ago my late husband and I always stopped to have a bowl of their famous chili, so I've been going there for many many years and ALWAYS had a great meal!! I live in SD now but come to Langes anytime I'm visiting relatives in Lake Benton. I love it!

We just happened on this restaurant while travel ling in Minnesota and decided to stop. What a fabulous restaurant--everything was so good and I'm so glad we stopped. Had my first taste of raisin pie--it was very very good.

Killer hash brown! My mother's french toast equally wonderful. Generous portions, good service. Plenty of ice water and coffee. Highlight of my weekend!

Loved their generous portions, quality homecooked cuisine and resonable prices. I wish I had more room to try their dessert, It looked fabulous
