BEST SCONES EVER !!!!!! We get them for work...one of my fellow employees lives close by and she told me about them and now we cant wait to get them ...I am kind of a scone fanatic and never had any to compare to these ...very full of berries and the cake part is so light .....raspberry my favorite .....good thing I don't live close as I would probably have to stop everyday ...good for business but bad for my waistline

In regards to the wedding couple review from 2012.
I am terribly sorry for the service that they received when they came in and called on the phone.
When it comes to wedding cakes it takes a good amount of time to go over all details pertaining to a wedding cake. We always mention to couples calling, that they can make an appointment to discuss their ideas and be able to ask questions or they can come in any time that is convenient for them to look at our examples and pick up an information sheet.
In the 2012 situation, it was one of those times where an appointment was not made. When they come in it was not a time where I could stop and answer any questions for them. Believe me when I say, if I had 5 minutes to spare I would have gave it to them.
I, Patty, am the only one who has all the right answers to all wedding cake questions. That is why employees know to take a name and telephone number if I am unavailable.
This issue has been discussed and taken care of with all people involved. It used as an example to all other staff as how to respond and help as much or as little as they can.

One more 5'r just to see if i can offset that 1 just a bit more.

I've been in and out of Patty's for about 2 years, and find EVERY visit both pleasant and enjoyable.

To the young lady that gave Patty a 1, I would say this. Mostly t'is in the eye of the beholder. I recall a story of an old man sitting under a tree, when a wagon, ok for today, let's call it an SUV, pulled up, packed to bursting with personal items, and a young couple got out, both sour faced and obviously in bad disposition.

"Say, old man, how are the people in that town down there?"

"Well, son, let me ask how were the people in the town you just left."

"They were evil and mean tempered. Liars and cheats every one. We were glad to be shuck of the place."

The old man thought moment then said "Well sir, you'll find them mostly the same here."

The young man and his wife huffed, got back in their SUV and drove off.

Another SUV pulled in, again packed to bursting, but this time a couple and 2 kids got out, all 4 excited to see the little town down the hill.

"Say sir," asked the young man, "How's the town down there?"

"Well", queried the old man, 'how were they where you just left?".

"Oh just wonderful. Great neighbors, truly wonderful people. We were so sad to have to leave."

"Well," said the old man, "you will find them the same here."

I like Patty's. If I could give them a 10 I would.

Patty's Place is easily a favorite of my family! The coffee/espresso is the best in town, her baked goodies are so good and the cakes are incredibly tasty and great looking! New Prague is lucky to have a great little business like her. We live in a neighboring town but head that way multiple times a week. If I'm having a hard time with motivating the kiddos out the door, a promise of Patty's Place is all this mom needs to mention. It's a win-win for all... Thank you Patty!

Was treated terribly! I have called multiple times and have been treated like I was a bother for calling to get information by the front ladies. Besides that I was given wrong information that lead to us (my fiance and I) using a different location for our wedding cake. As I said before I had called multiple times, but Patty was too busy to talk, but was told to come down ANYTIME and look through the pictures of wedding books and they would be able to answer our questions at that time. So we did just that on a Saturday morning (the only time my fiance and I don't have conflicting schedules). When walking in we were given a "funny" look, obviously a small town, knowing we were not part of it. When being given the books to look at they were shoved to us over the counter, shortly after a paper given to us the same way. After looking through the book and having a few questions on pricing, we had a few questions and asked the front workers if they could answer them or if Patty had a moment to answer them. After they rolled their eyes and told me that Patty had to answer them, she told me that she was too busy to answer questions, but could get my phone number and Patty would call me during the week. After explaining to the lady that I had just driven 45 minutes to come look at the pictures and get answers, if she could at least check with Patty to answer my questions, it would only take a few, I understand that I would need to make an appointment for more in depth questions. She reluctantly went back and asked. Upon return, she again said that I would need to give her my phone number and she would call me "sometime" during the week. After explaining again that we just drove 45 minutes after being told that someone would be able to answer any questions she tossed a price list over the counter and walked away. My Fiance and I agreed, we understood that she was busy, but not to take 5 minutes out of her day, to come out and introduce herself, and say, please write down the questions or I will call you on a specific day was just plain RUDE of Patty and we would not have wanted to work with a person like that on such a special day. Patty if you read this you lost a customer today, and all that would have been needed to be done is take 5 minutes of your day, OR train in the front desk workers to know general information to answer questions, making sure they know that their information is not quotable on price due to you being the boss. I am sad that I can not use a small town business and have to give my business to a large chain.

I have made many a trip to Patty's Place. When my Grandchildren come over they immediately ask when we are going - they love the smiley face cookies! The bakery items are great, the sandwiches are great. If you haven't had Patty make a cake for a special occasion think about having her make you the strawberry filled cake - awesome! Friendly and great customer service.

I find the coffee very good, on par with the big chain coffee stores like Starbucks etc. What is really exceptional are the homemade baked goods baked by Patty. My very favorite are her scones (raspberry, blueberry, and strawberry). Unlike those I have bought elsewhere, including Starbucks (which are so hard you can hammer a nail with them, and lacking much in the way of fruit) Patty's scones are filled with fruit, and are soft and very tasty. This opinion is shared by all with whom I have shared these scones. If you want a real treat, heat them up first in a microwave for a few seconds. In general, all of Patty's baked goods are exceptional. The coffee shop is a typical small town gathering place for the local population and business people. I recommend this place very highly to all.
