It is nice to have a restaurant like Castello's in Poplar Bluff. A welcome alternative to Fast food & steakhouse chains. I like that you can choose to sit in the casual or fine dining area (depending on your mood or dress). A great place for anniversaries, birthdays, & special occasions. Great food, awesome atmosphere!

Castello's is now only serving dinner and it's wonderful. they tell me their menu is changing a little to include more pasta dishes like when they first opened. They also have live entertainment at the bar every Wednesday and are working on Thursday night entertainment in the dining room for date night. All in all this restaurant is slowly reinventing itself and I think about to become the best all around restaurant in southeast Missouri.

I went to Costello's today for the first time. The atmosphere was great. I had a choice, buffet or menu. I checked the buffet which didn't have a lot to offer so I opted for a menu. This is supposed to be an Italian Restaurant. I was expecting Italian cuisine. The only Italian meals that stood out on the lunch menu were Lasagna and Chicken Alfredo. They offered many salads, a burger and a handful of other things. Variety is not big here. The buffet had a fruit salad and a pasta salad, fried fish, an Italian dish the waiter could not pronounce (it had pasta, a tomato based sauce, what looked like broccoli and chicken, chicken and dumplings, green beans, corn with I believe cream cheese mixed in. That was a very small buffet. The food was NOT good. The buffet table did not refill the plates often so I had to wait 10 minutes in between plates to go back to the buffet. I do not plan on returning. I had such high hopes for a real Italian restaurant in Poplar Bluff. Maybe their evening menu is more extensive and has more real Italian cuisine but I was very disappointed in their lunch menu offerings. Their prices would have been fine if they offered food worth eating.
