Very disappointed to see that this Big R closed down. To my knowledge it was the last one of what was originally a franchise that was started in the late 50's or very early 60's.by J B Richmond. The "R" stood for Richmond. Their cold frosty mugs of Big R root beer, broasted fried chicken, and old fashion burgers were deeeeeeelishous. Planned on visiting this weekend while in the area. Hate to scratch it off my bucket list..... .Anyone know when it closed, or if there is any plans of re-opening?
