A friend and I, in search of some meat and vegetables, decided to have lunch at Baby James. We were greeted by a lively little lady who quickly took our money and showed us to a seat. We helped ourselves to the buffet while our waitress, same lady, fetched our tea. The food was fair…”nothing to write home about.” I tried a chicken thigh and a small filet of fish and found both to be overcooked and dry. The vegetables ranged in flavor and quality, but none were positively memorable. Same with the desserts they offered including the peach cobbler. It was good, especially when I added the vanilla ice cream, but not fabulous.
The service was good. We did overhear that it was our little lady’s 4th day. I wouldn’t have guessed that as she appeared to have been there longer. The cost was fair for what was available. Overall, it was OK, and although we won’t make an effort to go back, I won’t say I wouldn’t eat there if I was passing by and very hungry.

Fresh foods always and friendly atmosphere. We try to visit here two to three times a week for good veggies and fried chicken.

Some days it's ok, other days it's awful..never know from day to day. I have chosen not to go back. It's only $10.00 if you drink tea with the meal, but why give it to someone that appears not to care. The last time I ate there I had to find someone to get my silverware after waiting; its not the cleanest place either.. 1 small dish only of banana pudding sat on the buffet squished, I was there for 1 hr and no more was brought out, no other desert either..only thing worth eating that day was cold slaw and cabbage and I ate that only.. never will go back..but they have signs taped up everywhere to tip the server.

Mash potatoes , we're not good, instant
Hamburger steak out of a box, just not home. Made, just not home cooking, I would say home heated up

Food is not good. It looks and taste like last weeks left overs.

Been going here for years and years. I just can't get enough of the delicious food. Tuesday is meatloaf, Thursdays I go for the fried tuna pattys, but Friday is my favorite as they have a delicious green bean casserole that you can't get enough of, great cornbread dressing, fried and baked fish, and a fantastic pork and onion dish. I'm getting hungry just writing this.

Great food and for the price you can't beat it! I go at lunch time once a week and The service is great. Tiffany and Vicki are my two favorite waitress and I enjoy talking to them. Great food and great service and it's affordable.

I took my parents there for Mother's Day and both they and I loved it. The food was great. They even had deviled eggs and salmon patties, which I have never seen on a buffet. Loved it. Will definitely go back.

The food is delicious. The banana pudding is homemade pudding. I would love the recipe for their sweet potatoes as they are the best I have ever eaten. The price is also great!! Next time I am in the area I will dine there again!!!

I went to Baby Jane's for the first time this past weekend. My first sight was the cashier sitting outside the front door, smoking a cigarette. Now, if I have a soap box, it's employees smoking at the front door. If I'm going to go eat, I don't want your second hand smoke taste in my mouth as an appetizer.
The adage "you get what you pay for" is definitely at work here at Baby Jane's. The food was mediocre at best. The cabbage and sweet potatoes were not fully cooked i.e. the cabbage was crunchy and the sweet potatoes tasted like dirt in the middle. The fried chicken tasted OK, but was very dry. It looked like a breast that had been cut in thirds. Give me a break. I wanted some banana pudding but it looked so anemic I didn't try it.
The service was not good. We asked for a Diet Coke for my diabetic husband and were brought sweet tea. It took us literally 15 minutes to flag someone down to change it.
There was one bright spot. The rolls were soft and fluffy and tasted homemade. I actually enjoyed them.
So.....yeaaahhhhh. Not going back, and will talk bad about this place until I die.

Very good place to go if you like good home cooking at a cheap price. Most of the food is excellent, although the last time I was there, the only thing I didn't like was the salsbury steak because it tasted like it came from a box. Everything else is great though!
