I absolutely love going here for Greek food!!! I have had food from Greek restaurants in San Antonio and they don’t hold a candle to the Athenian for taste and all. When they are busy during the lunch hour crowd, I understand when they have a backlog of customers. And I and my siblings love the atmosphere and we know what it takes to run such a great business. Keep up the fantastic work.

I love coming to this restaurant. The food is amazing, and I've never had a problem with the service either. The pita pit cannot even be compared to it. Going there again tonight :)

Unfortunately with the rating systems on these websites anybody can wright anything and for any purpose. I notice competitors writing bad reviews about the competition all the time. And it so hard to sort through the b.s.! My experience with the Athenian has always been great. I take my wife and two year old in all the time. The owners are very nice. The food is indescribably amazing. I've never been to the pita pit mentioned in the other review, and I'm sure it's good. However I probably will never go because I'm sure that it couldn't possibly beat the Athenians food.

I do love the taste of the gyros here. Unfortunately the taste does not outweigh the terrible customer service. I've visited the Athenian at least 7 times and out of the 7, 5 have been unpleasant. In the restaurant you'll receive very slow (my experience has been 45 minutes to 1 hour during lunch) and disinterested service. I've ordered to go over the phone to avoid the unpleasantries. The last straw was today when I asked how long it would take for a to go order so I would not make my boss late for her next meeting, to which the lady on the phone replied "Not interested, yeah well we're busy bye." with rude hung up. I am continually disappointed, after trying not to inconvenience them with my business. I suppose I'll take my money to the Pita Pit instead.
